Description
Allium sativum
When it comes to Italy, garlic is a national treasure. Think of all the Italian dishes and cuisine utilizing this pungent allium! Italian Softneck, as the name suggests, is a softneck garlic variety that does not produce scapes in the spring. It does, however, have much better storageability than it’s hardneck contemporaries, easily storing 8-9 months after curing! An artichoke type garlic, cloves are generally arranged in multiple concentric layers around the center which generally has no stock. More tolerant of warmer climates than hardneck. A mellow flavor that is great for pestos and sauces. An ideal variety for braiding!
