Breeding strong seeds for small scale farming is our mission. We grow in a harsh alpine climate giving our farm the unique opportunity to adapt seeds to extreme conditions where performance is essential. We focus our breeding on the creation of reliable, beautiful, tasty and most importantly vigorous seeds. Our seeds are the backbone of our market farming success and we hope they become stars in your gardens as well. Thanks for visiting our site and checking out our seeds.

Casey’s Legacy

Casey Piscura founded Wild Mountain Seed with a belief that the strongest farms and gardens begin with locally adapted, resilient seed. A farmer and passionate seed breeder, Casey dedicated his life to developing open-pollinated varieties shaped by real mountain conditions, short seasons, and challenging soils. His hands-on approach to landrace breeding, commitment to genetic diversity, and generosity in sharing knowledge built not only better seed, but a stronger growing community. Though Casey’s life was cut short, his vision lives on through Wild Mountain Seed, guiding everything we grow, select, and share.
