One of the most delicious fresh eating peas we have come across.  Plants are vigorous and grow to 6ft+ with proper trellising on our farm.  They take a little bit longer to mature than your standard snap pea varieties but are extraordinarily plentiful when they do come on.  They peas are great for stir-fry if picked young but are tastiest and crunchiest when the individual peas become defined in the pod.  Our version of this variety originally came from Meadowlark Hearth, and in our trials of other sources of this seed found that Meadowlark Hearth’s version was the sweetest, had the crispest pods, and was stringless.  Over that past five years we have worked to keep these desirable qualities and continue to push the variety towards greater vigor in our climate.

It should also be highlighted that the seeds of this variety are stunning.  The base color ranges from tan to green but all are characterized by a lovely purple mottling.  While we think all seed is beautiful, this variety is certainly one that that makes us stop marvel as we harvest and clean it.
