Our newest selections from our Rocky Mountain farm!

  • New selection for 2021!!! Ok, ok, we admit it, we are little obsessed with our Cucurbita Maxima winter squash breeding and are tickled purple with this refined gene pool. Incredible flavor, texture, beauty, vigor, long storage and marketable size are the selection criteria on the score cards and we know you will love our newest selections for 2021.  The flavor is divine with our former interns often telling us about having "squash withdrawls".  The best compliment we could have asked for came from our four year old neighbor who after eating directly from a cooked squash with no added anything proclaimed "These pies are amazing".  This collection is very diverse and will produce a range of colors and shapes with great flavor.  This years seeds is the culmination of 7 years of selection and we are excited to share with you this amazing winter squash swarm.  Our gratitude goes out to all who came before us in selecting and breeding such an amazing vegetable for man kind!
  • Mountain Roaster

    $4.00$7.50
In 2013 we set out to develop new selections of well adapted sweet pepper strains for our climate. We compiled an extensive collection of sweet peppers and allowed them to flower together. From that initial crosses onward we have selected refined lines with different physical attributes. The Mountain Roaster strain is a selection of a medium sized red sweet pepper that has thick flesh, delicious flavor, good yields strong plants and fruit size that lends itself perfectly to roasting whole or stuffing.  This collection is great for farmers markets as we find patrons more likely to buy two medium sized peppers than one larger sweet pepper. Kids often snack on these whole as the flavor is like candy when fully vine ripened. These do well when displayed and sold in pints or quarts where you can market them at a higher dollar value for the box.  Sturdy plants and early production make this a go to variety. ***please note there is some variability in this variety due to its diverse parentage (I imagine you will not mind due to the great vigor!)
  • Holy Italian

    $6.00$42.00
Holy Italian F3 population This extra extra large Italian sweet pepper emerged as the largest we have ever seen on our farm. The fruits are uniformly large to extra extra large with variable tips from pointed to notched. The plants were highly productive for us in 2020 competing with all of our other varieties for overall yield. The flesh is thick and the flavor is divine. We are excited to offer a small amount of this unique breeding population this season!
  • Gobstopper

    $4.00$35.00
For a few years we have grown this beautiful de-hybridized sun-gold selection that we got from Brown Envelope Seeds in Ireland. At first, these delicious green/yellow cherries lacked vigor in our cool spring soils with cold irrigation water. In 2018 we force frosted our entire population of cherry tomatoes and a single "Gobstopper" survived the test. This specimen plant had substantially more vigor than previous generations and also a beautiful growth habit where the cherry tomatoes where born abundantly on  perfectly straight tresses. The flavor is incredible and our customers often call these their favorite of all the cherries we grow. This strain of Gobstopper resists cracking and has become one of our most reliable cherries for market production!
  • Wild Mountain Bell

    $3.50$35.00
Our latest selection to create a better open pollinated red bell pepper! Beautiful fruit with thick flesh and great flavor are our top selection criteria for these fruits. We also have been selecting for plant stature and overall yield.  Enjoy the flavor and productivity of these beautiful red bells!
  • Perfect Italian Sweet

    $3.50$40.00
After years of refinement and selection we are proud to offer this amazing adaptable swarm of Medium to Large perfect shaped thick walled Italian Sweet Peppers. Again we allowed a diverse cast of Italian sweets to flower together then selecting for productivity, growth in cold soil temps, strong plant stature, resistance to blossom end rot, thick foliage cover to resist sun scold, thick walls and great flavor.  These peppers perform well in climates where sweet peppers traditionally struggle while going gang busters in warm climates. The folks at Wild Mountain Seeds have compared with the farmer favorite F1 hybrid Carmen where it has outperformed them in both fruit quality and production in their trials. Enjoy uniform, delicious, early, beautiful Italian sweet peppers with these great seeds!
  • Cucumbers Galore Grex

    $6.00$50.00
"Cucumbers Galore Grex" a name that exemplifies our excitement for how this F5(fifth year) population of cucumbers has evolved. Bred for the challenges of greenhouse production, while also producing equally well in the field, this hybrid swarm was selected for superior powdery mildew resistance, majority parthenocarpic plants (producing cucumbers without the presence of pollinators) and gynoecious tendency (producing majority female flowers and fewer male flowers). We have trialed most of the popular F1 hybrids including favorites like F1 Corinto and F1 Socrates and set out to breed a hybrid swarm of cucumbers that would rival and exceed the production of these expensive greenhouse cucumbers with superior powdery mildew resistance thus allowing for a long harvest season. We used a wide variety of parents including some very interesting greenhouse cucumbers from Japan and many other F1 cucumbers that possessed traits that we desired.  This premium seed is offered as a mixed formula from the best producing plants from 2020 and the price of the seed represents that incredible quality of these plants. Enjoy the increased production from the hard work of our team at Wild Mountain Seeds and Seed Peace.

Seeds coming screaming out of the ground with beautiful potato leaf plants with a nice covering of hairs on the stems. Galina has become our go to yellow cherry tomato in our mixes due to its productive abilities, earliness and resistance to cracking. $7.00$22.00
Experimental Seed Our team has been playing with making crosses to get an anthocyanin trait into our perennial favorite Sungold F1 and finally have something promising. Great flavor, strong production and disease resistant plants produced incredibly in 2020. • Cosmic Cream Centriflor

    $6.00$65.00
"Cosmic Cream Centriflor" appeared from an unknown cross with one of the “centriflor” tomatoes that we originally sourced from Alan Kapular’s  “Peace Seeds”.  The centrifloral tomatoes grow as short bush like tomatoes with hyper tresses (flowering stem parts) that can produce anywhere from 20 to 100 flowers and thus fruits on a single stem.  Peace Seeds explains this phenomenon   by saying “The hypertress trait arose from a cross of a cherry tomato with an Andean species. It was completely unexpected. In order to adapt to changes in environmental conditions crosses between individuals and species (ie outbreeders) are a fundamental part of the process of evolution.”  After receiving a couple of the centriflor tomatoes from Peace Seeds we have continued in developing anthocyanin rich lines of these interesting tomatoes. “Cosmic Cream” is a white grape version of this tomato and is an absolute show stopper when it comes to beauty. The vines produce continuous hyper-tresses of fruit throughout the season, the flavor is good and the ability of the fruit to keep off the vine is second to none. After a couple of seasons growing these out to ensure crack resistance and stability we are proud to share with you this “Cosmic Cream” of a tomato.
  • Cosmic Jewell Centrifloral appeared from an unknown cross with one of the "centriflor" tomatoes that we originally sourced from Alan Kapular's  "Peace Seeds".  The centrifloral tomatoes grow as short bush like tomatoes with hyper tresses (flowering stem parts) that can produce anywhere from 20 to 100 flowers and thus fruits on a single stem.  Peace Seeds explains this phenomenon   by saying "The hypertress trait arose from a cross of a cherry tomato with an Andean species. "Cosmic Jewell" is a black grape version of this tomato and is an absolute show stopper when it comes to beauty. The vines produce continuous hyper-tresses of fruit throughout the season, the flavor is good and the ability of the fruit to keep off the vine is second to none. Originally sourced from Adaptive Seeds who found this strain in the Seed Savers Exchange but do not know the history. The onion appears to be day neutral working across the United States and is our go to onion for early bulb production
  • Indigo Mountain Girl

    $6.00$20.00
Experimental Line! We discovered this exciting new variation as one of the survivors in our spring tomato frost trials. As the season progressed we realized how special this tomato was with great vigor, heavy fruit sets and great shelf life. This anthocyanin splashed mountain girl  has been one of our top producers in our winter tomato trial as the plants have continued to produce into January in a greenhouse where the air temp is kept just above freezing and soil temps are in the mid to upper 30s. We expect this variety to become a winner as we continue selection and have a limited amount of this years seed to offer for your growing enjoyment!
